KWV was founded in 1918, the same year South Africa’s first democratically elected president, Nelson Mandela, was born. In the space of just over a century, the country and its wine industry have seen many changes – and KWV, as the company who united wine farmers during the industry’s fledgling and struggle years, is privileged to feature prominently in the annals of South African history.
Grapes are sourced from the most sought-after viticultural regions of South Africa and are expertly handled and transported to KWV’s cellar facilities in Paarl in the Cape Winelands. Our facilities cover approximately 32 hectare, and at the heart is the world-famous Cathedral Cellar, built in 1930.
KWV continues to build on its reputation as pioneer and innovator, and with a mantra that puts the consumer first, undoubtedly ready for the next century. With a solid foundation in the South African wine industry, and with global reach, KWV invites you to be part of its future.
Newton wines stocks and distributed the award winning Method Cap Classique sparkling wines from Laborie along with a selection of the unique and wonderful Mentors range of wines.
